Shane M. Porter

Shane M. Porter, 21, of New Philadelphia died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Aultman Hospital following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Shane was a 2011 graduate of Dover High School and was employed at the Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center as a Youth Correctional Leader. Shane (massive) was a fun loving and ornery character who enjoyed riding his bike and watching his beloved Buckeyes and Browns. He was an animal lover as well, who took great pride in taking care of his turtles, frogs and dog, Mack. Shane was a member of Grace Lutheran Church at Dover.

Born April 25, 1993 in Canton he was a son of Glenn A. Porter and Janet Keener Porter and her fianc Ernie Kleski all of Dover. Shane is also survived by his brothers, Ryan (Lynn) Porter and Drew Porter and his girlfriend, Diana Slawski all of Dover; sister, Sarah (Eric) Walters of Uhrichsville; maternal grandparents, Art (Doris) Keener and paternal grandparents, Charles (Joanne) Porter all of Dover; aunts and uncles, Paula Wolfe, Patty Keener, Mark (Lynn) Keener, Pam (Jeff) Keller all of Dover, Steve (Edie) Porter of Florida and Scott (Jacquie) Porter of New Philadelphia; girlfriend, Terri Fait of New Philadelphia; special friend, Larry (Brenda) Wallick of Dover and numerous cousins.

Shane was preceded in death by his uncle, Ron Wolfe and close family friend, Jerry Schupp.

A service celebrating Shane's life will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at 11:00 am in the Grace Lutheran Church at Dover with Pastor Donald Rice officiating. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 1-3 and 5-8 pm. In keeping with Shane's giving nature, he was an organ donor, so he could give the gift of life to others.
