Ruth V. Henry

Ruth V. Henry, 84, of Dover, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 in the Park Village Health Care Center.

Born April 15, 1923 at Dover, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Charlene VanFossen Jones.

A 1941 graduate of Dover High School, she was a Methodist by faith and had attended both the First United Methodist Church at Dover and the Winfield United Methodist Church.

Ruth was a dynamic woman. More than the label “homemaker” implies, she had a terrific knack for putting family and home first. She was an excellent cook and loved keeping house. She was always there for her children, regardless of their activity, and had a variety of things that she enjoyed taking part in as well. Ruth was full of energy and loved being outdoors whether walking, riding her bicycle or roller-skating. She also kept busy in the yard with mowing, and tending to her flowers.

She will be remembered for her loving spirit, sharp wit, and terrific sense of humor.

Her husband of 55 years, George M. Henry, died December 31, 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, a brother, Ben Jones, preceded Ruth in death.

Surviving family members include: two sons, Dave (Kelly) Henry of Dover, and Steve Henry of Cleveland; a daughter, Joan (Mike) Fondriest of Strasburg; two brothers, Bill (Ruth) Jones of Lorain, and Ken (Pat) Jones of Dover; a sister, Nancy (Gabriel) Donato of Florida; three grandchildren, Katie, Jackie, along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service that celebrates Ruth�(TM)s life will be held Monday, July 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Rev. LuAnn Youngman will officiate.
