Russell J. Stalder, 89, of Dover died Friday, December 14, 2007 at Aultman Hospital.

Born November 24, 1918 in Dover he was a son of the late John and Emma Hanni Stalder.

He had retired in 1981 from Gradall.

Russell was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover and the Dover American Legion. He was also an Army veteran of WW II.

Russell is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn Smith Stalder, whom he married on December 6, 1941. He is also survived by a son, Ron (Linda) Stalder of Tempe, Arizona; two daughters, Patricia Linard of Columbus and Rosemary Haugh of Dover; brother, Dalton Stalder of Dover; sister, Marjorie Vargo of Canton; six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, six great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Russell was also preceded in death by a sister, Alverna Mutschelknaus and a son in law, Richard Haugh.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover with Rev. Michael Lowry officiating. The Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. There are no calling hours. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover are handling arrangements.
