Ruby O. Lahmers, 91, of Park Village in Dover and formerly of Seibert Hill Rd. S.W., New Philadelphia died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.
She along with her husband, Ralph owned and operated a dairy farm for many years.
Born December 31, 1915 at Crooked Run, she was the daughter of the late Clark and Edith Zimmerman Rosenberry.
Ruby was an active member of the Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia where she served as former treasurer, deaconess, and Sunday schoolteacher. She was a 1932 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and was also active in the Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau where she served on its Women�(TM)s Committee. She enjoyed music and liked spending time playing her piano.
Her husband, Ralph died July 8, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Swaldo, a sister, Annabelle Lahmers and four brothers, Dalton, Doren, Clark, and Max Rosenberry.
Ruby is survived by two daughters Donna (Dean) Swaldo and Karen (Fred) Eichel all of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Laura (James) Switzer, Deanna (Chris) Gundlah, Lisa (Hal) Wagoner, and Michelle (Duane) Wood; seven grandchildren, Alica and Jessica Switzer, Adam and Lindsay Gundlah, Olivia and Nathan Wagoner, and Wyatt Wood along with a sister in law, Lucy Rosenberry of Dover.
A private funeral service for her family will be held on Saturday at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia with Dr. Terry Downin officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park with a reception to follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. At Ruby�(TM)s request, there will be no public calling hours.
