Ronald A. Johnson

Ronald A. ''Ron'' Johnson, 62, of Dover, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002 in his home.

He retired from Armco Steel at Dover where he had worked for 35 years.

Born August 21, 1939 at New Philadelphia, he was son of the late Minnie Weigand Johnson.

Ron was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Dover. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved spending time hunting with his son.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. (Bertle) Johnson, with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage on November 25.

Other survivors include: three children; Rebecca & Mike Ondo of Louisville, Kathy & Robert Baker of Dover and Jon & Coral Johnson of Dover, three grandchildren; Joshua Ondo, Britnee Johnson & Katelyn Johnson, two sisters; Rose Marie & Karl Weaver of Canton, and Mary Ann & Dick Dolvin Zoarville, mother-in-law; Kathleen Bertle, aunt; Marjorie Weigand, special cousin; Bob Stingel, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his mother, Ron was preceded in death by: father-in-law, John Bertle, infant brother; Kenneth Johnson, uncle; Kenneth Weigand, Sr., and niece; Doreen Weaver White.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 9, at 9:30am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Friday from 5-8pm where Christian Wake services will be held at 7:30pm.
