Rolland J. "Jim" Moore

Rolland J. “Jim” Moore, 81, of Strasburg passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 in the Inn at Northwood surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 28, 1937 in Orlando, West Virginia he was a son of the late Darius and Josephine Murphy Moore. Jim was also preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine Moore, Ruth Berry and his brother, Ray Moore.

Jim was born in West Virginia, but moved to Dover at a young age, and was a 1955 graduate of Dover High School. He started his working career in the 1950’s with Gradall, Marlite, Reeves, Do-Mor Refuse and then became a partner with DMA, which manufactured mobile home skirting, where he retired after 30 years of service. Jim was a former member of the Mineral City United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school; Mineral City Lions Club, served as a Boy Scout leader, and was an avid bowler who bowled with the Mineral City League.

Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth E. Cappillo Moore whom he married on February 3, 1957; children, Sandy (Ken) DeBos of Bolivar, Rich (Vickie) Moore of Strasburg, Randy (Nancy) Moore of Mineral City; grandchildren, Alyssa (Nick) Chambers, Ashlee Moore, Nathan and Madisan DeBos; brother, Ralph (Shirley) Moore of Zoarville and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There are no services or calling hours. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Jim may do so by visiting the online obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
