Roger L. Ray, 76, of Dover died on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Community Hospice House following a brief illness.

Born on April 15, 1939 in Dover, he was the son of the late John H. and Erma (Patton) Ray. He graduated from Dover High School in 1958. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Ray and sister-in-law Ginny Brick.

On December 7, 1962, he married Sandy Blickensderfer. Roger retired in 1990 from Reeves Steel following 30 years of service.

Roger was a member of the Kustom Kemp Car Club and enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows. He was an avid Harley rider and enjoyed tinkering in his garage.

In addition to his wife, Sandy, he will be sadly missed by his sons; Daniel Ray of North Canton, Ed Truman of North Canton, John Ray (fianc, Darcie Fishel) of Mineral City; two daughters, Sherry (John) Wright of Tuscarawas, Carole (Robert) Cleary of New Philadelphia; a sister, Betty Ann (Jim) Huff of Dover; along with eight grandchildren, Vanessa (Brock) McDevitt, Shawn Lendon, Rob (Lindsey) Cleary, and Heather Cleary, Jakob Fishel, Rainey Trull, Summer Wright, Brooke (Clint) Huffman; four great grandchildren, Ellanoir, Bailey, Annalise, and Hailey; sisters in-law, Cynthia (Kenny) Ryan, Judy (Tom) Karl, Dee Ray; brother in law, Gary Brick; along with many nieces and nephews. Ray will also be missed by a special group of "van" friends.

In honoring Roger's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. The family is planning a memorial event in the spring.
