Robert J. "Bob" Morris

Robert J. “Bob” Morris, of Dover passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Timken Mercy Hospital following a brief illness.



Born on May 31, 1939, in Dover, he was the son of the late Oliver and Olive (Poland) Morris. Robert was also preceded in death by his sisters; Jean and Bernie; brother, Bill; and Bob’s in-laws, Ralph and Lorene Harper along with several nieces and nephews.



He was a retired farmer, a Dover School bus driver, Starlight School bus driver, semi-truck driver, and a county employee. He continued to keep busy doing mowing jobs. Sitting still was not an option for him! He was a man of strong faith. He had been a member of the Dover Foursquare Church and most recently New Philadelphia First Christian Church. He will be remembered for his wonderful giving spirit and willingness to always help those in need. Anyone that knew him knew how precious his family was to him and how proud he was of each one of them.



A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert will be missed by his wife of 60 years; Donna (Harper) Morris; his children, Joann (Rick) Charnock, Kristie (Bret) Hertzell, Jim (Barbie) Morris, and Debbie (Adam) Wilson; grandchildren, Zach (Aimee) Charnock, Katelyn (Terrance) Jackson, Alexa (Brendon) Prosch, Brooke (Kale) Horvath, Olivia (Chris) Yannayon, Danielle (Mike) Covington, Dustin (Emily) Morris, Ryder (Dakota) Morris, Tyree Wilson, Bailey Wilson; along with 13 great-grandchildren and two on the way.



Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 4-6 pm. A private family service will take place at a later time. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing will take place and masks will be required for everyone’s health and safety.
