Rick A. Straub

Rick A. Straub, age 57, of Dover, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016, after battling cancer the past five months.

Born July 31, 1958, at Dover, he was a son of Delmar and Jean (Baker) Straub of Dover. Rick graduated from Dover High School in 1977, and was employed as a truck driver for Fleming Foods at Navarre, and later for Reese Trucking at Dover from which he retired. He attended NewPointe Community Church, Dover.

Rick loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping; he was a member of the Pine Hill Hunting Club at Dover. Gardening growing vegetables was also among his favorite pastimes.

In addition to his parents, Rick is survived by his wife, Cathy (Scott) Straub, whom he married on October 15, 1983; his son, Bryan Straub of Sao Paulo, Brazil; his daughter, Melissa Straub of Dover; his sister, Beth Cadle of Dover; his brother, Greg Straub, also of Dover; and his nephews and niece, John and Dan (Kara) Cadle, and Justin and Kristin Straub.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park.
