Richard J. "Dj" Lang

Richard J, “DJ” Lang, 64, of New Philadelphia passed away in the Community Hospice Truman House on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

DJ was born on February 25, 1958 in Dover and was a son of the late Delbert and Delores Tolley Lang. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Kiser; and two brothers, Harry “Thomas” and Larry Lang.

DJ proudly served his country with the United States Navy for 15 years. Following his discharge, he was employed at Buehler’s starting his career in New Philadelphia, then Dover and finally retiring from the Jackson Township store after 22 years of service. DJ loved being with his family, and in his spare time, he enjoyed bowling every Monday night with his league at Wabash Lanes.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Melody Grove Lang, whom he married on November 15, 2001; children, Jonathon Lang of New Philadelphia, Sara Richelle (Sam) Reynolds of Uhrichsville, Blake Lang, Casandra Grove (fiancé, Chris Scott) of Uhrichsville, Shawnna Lenee (Dillon) Iverson of Dennison, Tanner Lee Grove of Missouri; siblings, Delbert (Marsha) Lang of Orrville, Cindy O’Neil of Dover; and six grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, August 24th from 5-7 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There are no services.
