Rebecca Lou Pace

January 23, 1952 — March 13, 2008

Rebecca "Becky" Lou Pace, 56, of Strasburg died Thursday, March 13, 2008 after a courageous, battle with Breast Cancer and later, Acute Myelogenous Leukemia "AML." She was in remission.

Born, January 23, 1952 in Massillon, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Rose Tesmar Price.

She graduated from Strasburg High School in 1970. She later became a realtor for Barnett Realtors for over 10 years.

On November 27, 1971 she married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Pace who survives her. Charles stood by Rebecca and fought her battle with her until the end. He remembers what an incredible patient she was. She was always positive and did everything the doctors asked of her. Charles will be forever grateful for Rebecca's brother, Chris Price, who was kind enough to help with her fight by being her bone marrow donor.

Rebecca was a complex woman to say the least. She always worried about everyone else, never herself. She was a foster mother of four children in need. She had an extraordinary passion for animals, and was a proud owner of many homeless animals. Compassion doesn't begin to describe Rebecca.

She loved gardening, crafts and truly enjoyed watching HGTV and the Food Network. One of her favorite past times was traveling and going to concerts, especially to see Styx.

In addition to Charles, other survivors include: her two sons; Aaron (wife, Kelly) Pace of Dover, Timothy Pace of Strasburg; three brothers, Christopher (wife, Jill) Price, Richard (Sandy) Price, Pete (Annette) Price all of Strasburg; three sisters, Patricia (husband, Lee) Stotts of North Carolina, Bonita Conely and Susan Crawford both of Texas, and a grandson; Steven Pace of Dover.

In honoring Rebecca' s wishes, cremation as been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held at the New Pointe Community Church on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 11:00 am with Pastor Chad Stutzman officiating. A meal will follow at the church. Those unable to attend or wishing to share a fond memory may sign the online register book for Rebecca by visiting the "obituaries" link on the funeral home's website.

Because of Rebecca's love for animals, monetary contributions may be made to Save a Mom, which is a pet rescue organization at 1271 Downing St. SW, East Sparta, Ohio 44626 or the Tuscarawas County Dog Pound, 441 University Dr. NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
