Raymond T. Patterson

Raymond T. Patterson, 74, of Dover died Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Community Hospice Truman House.

Born December 8, 1942 in Dover, he was a son of the late Sam and Elsie Cercone Patterson.

Ray retired from Reeves Steel after 35 years of service. When it comes to passions, family was the obvious priority for Ray. He was supportive of his wife and children and made his grandchildren laugh on a regular basis. His other love fell with antique cars and classic 50's music. He always had a smile on his face as he proudly presented his '69 Chevelle at car shows.

Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edith Hanks Patterson, whom he married on August 5, 1961; children, Donna (Bill) Groves, Steve (Theresa) Patterson both of New Philadelphia, Jeff (Tricia) Patterson of Dover; brothers, Dan (Diane) Patterson, Sam Patterson both of Dover, Ron (Sherry) Patterson of Bolivar; sisters, Barb (Don) Jaberg of Dover, Debbie (Rahim) Dukhbouch of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Sean (Kate) Groves, Sara (Allen) Butler, Bret Patterson, Kirk Patterson, Olivia Marsh and one great granddaughter, Hailey Butler.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Elders, Dale and Vickie Gowins officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
