Raymond T. Houze

Raymond T. Houze, 74, of 2326 St. Rt. 39 NW, Dover, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 24, 1999.

He had worked as a self-employed public accountant for over 40 years.

Born December 4, 1924 at New Cumberland, he was a son of the late Clark and Ruth Tressell Houze.

Ray was a graduate of Mineral City High School.  He served in the US Army during World War II, and was a member of 40 et 8.  For many years he served on the Board of Education for the Tuscarawas Valley School District.  He had been an active member of the Dover Elks and Moose Lodges, and had been a little league baseball coach for several seasons.  Ray was also an avid bowler and horseshoe pitcher, and enjoyed playing softball for several area teams.

He is survived by:
3 children Rick & Rose Houze of Columbus
Brad & Kelly Houze of Dover
Holli and Randy Jacobs of Dover

10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild

a sister Ann & Green Patrick of New Cumberland

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley, and a brother, Chester.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 27, at 11:00am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Clifford Hughes officiating.  Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery.  Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-9pm.  Dover Elks services will be held at 8:45pm.  Those unable to attend may sign the on-line register book for Ray by visiting the 'on-line obituaries' link on our website at www.tolandherzig.com
