Randol S. ''Dick'' Williams

Randol S. ''Dick'' Williams, 78, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2000.

Born July 2, 1922 at Wileyville, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Nathan and Nancy Calvert Williams.

Dick was a proud veteran of World War II having served as Sargent in the Army Infantry earning the Purple Heart & Bronze Star among other honors in the European & North African Theaters.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Williams, daughter Erma (Kevin) Fenton of Newcomerstown, son George (Susan) Williams of New Philadelphia, granddaughter Sally Arnold, grandsons Kirk Williams and Jason Arnold and his companion Barb Dodd, great-granddaughter Brooke Williams, and great-grandson Chase Arnold. He is also survived by sisters Freida Mason of Newcomerstown, Gladeth Ashcraft of Columbus, and brother Alva Ray (Melva) Williams of Port Washington as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Dick was preceded in death by daughter Dolly Williams, granddaughter Toni Arnold, six brothers and five sisters.

Dick attended Dover Bible Church. He had worked at Evans Brick in Midvale, Cree Tire Shop and OIS Tire. He was a life member of the Dover post of the VFW. He loved gardening, being outdoors, and helping people.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 25, at 1pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor Ed Scaglione officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park where military graveside service will be conducted by the VFW. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Starlight School, or to the donor's church or favorite charity.
