Ralph Murch Jr.

Ralph Murch Jr., 71, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, May 6, 2005 at Fairlands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky following an extended illness.

Born October 7, 1933 in Tuxedo, New York, he was the son of the late Ralph and Madeline Walton Murch Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Poffarl Murch with whom he celebrated 49 years of marriage on April 28th. He is also survived by two sons, Douglas (Tracey Keplinger) Murch of Dover and Rodney (Cindy Swisshelm) Murch of New Philadelphia; one daughter, Sharon (David) Brown II of Dover; eight grandchildren, Krista, Jeremy, Samantha, Andrew, and Sabrina Murch; David Brown III, Joseph and Alicia Brown; two sisters, Mildred (Robert) Banker of Chester, New York, Janet (James) Definis of Daytona Beach, Florida; two brothers, Arthur (Doris) Murch of Daytona Beach, Florida and Richard (Evelyn) Murch of Hollis Center, Maine; two sisters in law, Gloria Murch of Port Orange, Florida and Sonya Murch of Lincoln Park, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Frank, and Kenneth Murch.

Ralph was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War where he served from 1954-56. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bolivar. He enjoyed the outdoors especially loved fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was also was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at 10am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Fr. Ed Keck officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-9 pm with Christian Wake services at 8:30 pm.
