Phoebe Josephine Rozlog

November 2, 1921 — August 21, 2004

Phoebe Josephine Rozlog, 82, of Hennis Care Centre, Dover, and a former resident of Magnolia, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 21, 2004.

Born November 2, 1921, in Lindentree, Carroll County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Peter “Pete” and Virginia Lejune Ash. She moved at a young age with her family to New Philadelphia, where she grew up and attended school.

During World War II, Phoebe worked for Republic Steel Company in Massillon where she met her future husband, Frank Rozlog. Phoebe and Frank were married in Key West in 1962. The couple took yearly vacations to Florida where they enjoyed fishing. Frank died in 1977.

In 1990, Phoebe was involved in a terrible automobile accident, and was not expected to live, let alone walk or talk again. But, after many months of hospitalization, therapy, hard work and faith in God she was able to live somewhat of a normal life. Phoebe started her day by reading the Bible, and was sure to close the day by reading the 23rd and 91st Psalms. Full of forgiveness, she prayed often for the drunk driver who caused the accident.

Phoebe is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, August 23, at 2 p.m., in East Avenue Cemetery, New Philadelphia, with Rev. Larry Fletcher of the First Assembly of God in New Philadelphia officiating. There will be no public calling hours. To sign an online register and share a fond memory of Phoebe, please visit the funeral home(TM)s Web site.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Program of the First Assembly of God, 742 Cookson Avenue S.E., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
