Pearl C. May

Pearl C. May, 74, of New Philadelphia passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Hennis Care Center in Dover.

Born on August 17, 1937, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Virginia Ripple Francis. On August 7, 1960, she married the love of her life, John May, who survives.

Pearl attended New Philadelphia High School. She was a talented cook and baker. She enjoyed quilting, camping, and biking, but more than anything, she enjoyed the time that she spent with her granddaughters, Courtney, Carson, and Ashton.

She retired from K-Mart in New Philadelphia following ten years of service.

In addition to her husband, John, who she celebrated 51 years of marriage, she is also survived by three children; Jennifer (Kevin) McKenna of Brunswick, Christopher "Chris" May of Las Vegas, Stacy (Scott) Doak of New Philadelphia; her sister, Joann (Dante) Dallas of Florida; brother, Jim (Gail) Francis of Florida; and her three granddaughters, Courtney, Carson, and Ashton.

Pearl was preceded in death by her sister; Roberta Watson.

A celebration of Pearl's life will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 am with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Immediately following the service, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 4-7 pm.
