Patrick R. Howell

Patrick R. "Pat" Howell, 68, of Strasburg, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 in Aultman Hospital.

Born March 17, 1940 at Somerton, he was the son of J. Blanche Skinner Howell of Beach City, and the late Howard Howell.

A dedicated employee, Pat retired from the Timken Company where he had been a steel worker for 33 years.

Pat was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and always put his family first. He was an avid reader, and a bit of a history buff who enjoyed steam shows and classic cars. Years ago he had also been interested in woodworking.

On September 1, he celebrated his 46th wedding anniversary with his wife, the former Sharon Miller, who survives.

Other surviving family members include: three children, Martin (Nim) Howell of Dover, Gina (Wes) Hayes of Dover, and Lisa Howell of Columbus; three grandchildren, Cymoril Howell, Aprile & Heath Hayes; two brothers, Les (Leatha) Howell of Beach City, Francis Howell of Newcomerstown, and Beverly (Wayne) McFarren of Beach City.

In addition to his father, a brother, Jim, preceded Pat in death.

In celebration of Pat's life, Rev. Lynda K. Masters will officiate a public memorial service on Saturday, September 27, at 3:00pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Strasburg. Friends may call in the funeral home one-hour prior to services.

Burial at East Lawn Cemetery in Sugarcreek will be held at a later date.
