Patricia A. Weist

Patricia A. Weist, 73, of S. James St., Dover, Ohio and a former New Philadelphia resident died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 in her home following a brief illness.

Born November 5, 1928 in New Paris, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Carl A. and Beverly Arnold Northrop.

She formerly attended the Otterbein United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia. She was also involved in the Tuscarawas County Senior Center and was an avid supporter of the Tuscarawas County Humane Society and Cat N Us. She loved writing and poetry and wrote articles in the New Paris News.

She is survived by two daughters Tracie Anne (John) Smith of Dover and Tamie Lynn Weist of Bolivar.

Four grandchildren Amy and Andy Smith, Ryan and Randi Kopp and two step grandchildren, Dawn Ravine and Erik Smith along with six step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mickey Suzanne Weist and a brother, Allen Northrop.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1:30 pm in the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia with Rev. Jim Borton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to the time of services in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cats N Us, Tuscarawas County Humane Society, or the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.
