Neal E. Dickerhoof, 60, of Strasburg passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital following a six month battle with Covid-19.

Born on August 15, 1961 in Dover he was a son of the late Clyde and Clairene Dawson Dickerhoof. Neal was a 1980 graduate of Strasburg High School and had been employed by the Village of Strasburg for the past 25 years. He was a woodworker and loved camping and socializing with his family and friends with a cold beverage around the campfire. Neal was also an avid bicycle rider, who enjoyed riding so much, Michelle joked about him being survived by his bicycle, “Princess”.

Neal is survived by his wife, Michelle Booth Dickerhoof of 26 years; daughter, Gabryell (Codi) Stark of Uhrichsville; brother, Paul (Connie) Dickerhoof of Strasburg; niece, Kimberly (Mike) Koprivec; nephews, Kyle Dickerhoof, Ray (Sherri) Thompson; great nieces, Allison and Eva Koprivec; mother in law, Kandy Richardson of Canton; and brother in law, David (companion, Kerry Haney) Booth of New Philadelphia.

In addition to his parents, Neal was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde and Cloyd Dickerhoof, Ron, Gene and Terry Eberly; sister, Kathryn Thompson; niece, Tara Lynn Dickerhoof; and his beloved dog, Angel.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Sabota and his wife, Kathy, for the wonderful and outstanding care given to Neal. They would also like to thank the Strasburg community and individuals who gave so much in support of Neal the past six months. Thank you!!

Private graveside services will be held in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Strasburg is handling arrangements. The family is planning to have a public celebration of Neal’s life later this summer at Strasburg Franklin Park.
