Nancy J. Page

October 21, 1931 — January 15, 2021

Nancy J. Page, age 89, of Dover, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, in Dover’s Hennis Care Centre.

Born October 21, 1931, in Harrison County, she was a daughter of the late George and Sara Dunlap Knight. Nancy graduated from New Athens High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Muskingum College. She married Richard K. McDonnell on June 24, 1956, and the couple shared just shy of eight years of marriage before Richard’s life was tragically cut short on February 24, 1964. Later, on June 27, 1969, Nancy married Horace J. Page, and the couple were married 42 years prior to Horace’s passing on January 21, 2012. Nancy was a long-time elementary school teacher who taught in Alliance, Newcomerstown, Dover and New Philadelphia. Her specialty was reading - she wanted every young child to be able to read well.

Nancy was a member of Dover Bible Church. She enjoyed reading - of course, travel, crafts, shopping and, in her younger days, dancing. Nancy dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her family has fond memories of her baking with them. She loved anything to do with kids.

Nancy is survived by her children, Sally (Dan) Conkle, Bruce (Laurie) McDonnell and Steve (Amy) Page, all of Dover, and Bill (Sheri) McDonnell of Mineral City; her grandchildren, Michael (Erica), Mark (Nicole) and Jacob McDonnell, Marci (Scott) Rehm, Alex (Breann) and Nate Conkle, Katie, Josh and Will Page; her 18 great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, her first husband, Richard, and her second husband, Horace, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Tommy McDonnell; and her siblings, Dora Moore, Bill and Mary Lee Knight.

In the interest of safety, because of the surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, a private family service will be held in Dover Bible Church. Pastor Mark Britton will officiate, Burial will be in Dover Burial Park. To sign an online guestbook and share a fond memory of Nancy, please visit the Obituaries link on the Toland-Herzig website.

The family wishes to acknowledge Hennis Care Centre for all of their care and kindness - Thank You So Very Much.

Donations in Nancy’s memory are suggested to Dover Bible Church, 4173 Minard Rd. N.W., Dover, Ohio 44622.
