Melinda J. "Mindy" Zupp

Melinda J. (Mindy) Zupp, age 65 of Dover, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia following complications from ovarian cancer.

Born in Canton on September 19, 1956, she was raised in Greentown and North Canton and was a graduate of North Canton Hoover High School in 1975.

Mindy spent nearly 50 years working as a cosmetologist, utilizing a passion to make others feel beautiful from the outside inward. She was owner-operator of Z Hair Salon in Dover and brought joy into the lives of so many people. The friendly relationships naturally built through clients was something she always treasured. Mindy was an amazing artist, music lover, lefty golfer, Ohio sports fan, and aspiring pianist.

In addition to her parents William Zupp and Sara (Zupp) Dowding, Mindy was preceded in death by her niece Kelly Fife and brother-in-law Jeffrey Hummel.

She leaves behind her beloved sons James (Stephanie) Wheeler, Jordan (Scarleth) Wheeler, Jess (Erin) Wheeler; her precious grandsons; Jack and Jace and granddaughters; Madeline and Addison; sisters Diane Fife, Sara Jane Root, Laurie Zupp, Julie Hummel, and brother Robert (Darlene) Zupp; her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews from around the country. She will be endlessly missed by her companion Gary Hogle as well as her feathered and feline pet companions and her dear family, friends, and co-workers.

Per her wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover, Ohio.
