Maxine A. Streb

Maxine A. Streb, 82, of Dover died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.

Born May 18, 1930 in Dover she was the daughter of the late Eugene Heck Sr. and Marie Destefani Heck Weigand and Edward Weigand. Maxine was also preceded in death by her husband and love of her life for 58 years, William J. Streb who passed on July 7, 2008.

She was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph High School and had worked for many years as an LPN in Milledgeville, Georgia. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and in her spare time enjoyed playing cards and working puzzles. She spent her life loving and caring for her family.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Maxine will be sadly missed by her daughters, Ann Marie (John) Shaw of Gray, Georgia and Jane (Gary) Hatcher of New Market, Maryland; son, John (Joyce) Streb of Jefferson, Georgia; grandchildren, Whitney and Eric Shaw, Jessica (Lydon) Blood, Chad Hatcher, Ashley (Peter) Lester and Kristen (Phillip) Gibson; great grandchildren, Kamryn Shaw, Katelynn Jackson, Kayla Overstreet and Natalie Gibson; brother, Eugene "Buster" Heck of Dover and dedicated and loving sister in law, Susan Rees.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 11:00 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in the St. Joseph Family Life Center. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 6-8 pm with Christian Wake services starting at 7:45 pm.
