Matilda E. "Tillie" Dallau, 93, formerly of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Friday, July 23, 2010 in the Park Village at Dover following a three month illness.

Born June 10, 1917 in Roswell, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Ruffini) Dallau.

Tillie was a beautician for forty six years having retired from the Mane Event in New Philadelphia where she worked for twenty four years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. She was also an outstanding baker and was known for her delicious pies.

She is survived by her sister, Paula Myers with whom she resided for 43 years and Paula's children Michael (wife, Donna) Myers of Strasburg and Greg (wife, Valerie) Myers of New Philadelphia. She is also survived by her brother, Lewis "Jack" (wife, Gloria) Dallau of Dover; a sister in law, Helen Dallau of North Canton along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Tillie was preceded in death by a brother, Abel Dallau, a sister, Eleanor Lair and her brothers in law, Carl Myers and Ed Lair.

At Tillie's request, Fr. Jeff Coning will officiate a private service in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. There will be no public visitation. Interment will be in he Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Those who wish to do so may express a fond memory of Tillie and sign an online guestbook by visiting the "obituaries" link on the funeral home's Web site.
