Mary M. Brinkley

Mary M. Brinkley, 94, of Strasburg died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the Hospice House at New Philadelphia.

Born September 15, 1918 in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania she was a daughter of the late Michael and Rose Mizia. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband, Allen J. Brinkley on January 3, 2007; daughter, Shirley Scott; grandson, Allen Maynard, granddaughter, Maryann Scott; two sons in law, Maynard Scott and Herman Huston; eight brothers and a sister.

She was a member of the Strasburg AARP and the Lions Club. Mary was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards. But her greatest passion was her family; they were truly the center of her life.

Mary will be sadly missed by her children, Janet Huston, Connie (Ken) Myers and Ron (Patti) Brinkley all of Strasburg; sister, Ann Duda of Bridgeville; nine grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10 at 10 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Jeff Matthews officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
