Mary Jo Fahrni

Mary Jo Fahrni, 61, of Canton passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 in Altercare of Louisville following an extended illness.

Born on January 6, 1960 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Ernest “Ike” and Rita Cox Baker. In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Norman (Marjorie) Johnson, George (Elizabeth) Baker. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Thomas “Tom” Fahrni whom she married on September 11, 1993; daughter, Nicole (Joel) Luecke of Clinton; brother, Steve (Sue) Baker of Hudson; niece, Lindsay (fiancé, Joe); nephews, Zach (companion, Tina), Drew; and her beloved dogs, Johnny and Bailey.

Mary Jo was a 1978 graduate of Dover High School where she was a member of the high school band. She had been a Teller at several different banks in the area, and was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Dover. She had a great love for the Christmas season, especially watching Christmas shows on the Hallmark Channel. Mary Jo enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16th starting at 10:30 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Dotty Hartzell officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Peace Cemetery at Hartville starting at 2:00 pm on Thursday. The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
