Mary Eloise "Ellie" Longacher

Mary Eloise "Ellie" Longacher, 89, of Dover died Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Inn at Northwood.

Born January 23, 1927 in McMechen, West Virginia she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Shriver Kiger. Ellie was also preceded in death by her infant sons, Denny and Bobby Longacher; step mother, Betty Kiger; sister, June Reed; two brothers, Lee, Jack Dale Kiger and an infant brother.

Ellie was a member of St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg and attended St. Paul's Ruslin Hills Church. She enjoyed doing for others with her work within the church.

Ellie will be sadly missed by her husband of almost 67 years, Lester W. Longacher, whom she married on September 10, 1949; son, Randy (Diane) Longacher of Dover; grandson, Scott (Cindy) McCartney of Dover; great grandchildren, Jordan and Maddison McCartney.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Jason Rissler officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 pm.
