On July 26, 2012, Marv Klingaman joined God's heavenly singers and reunited with his wife, family and friends.

Born in Alliance, he married "the girl with the beautiful legs," Ann McDougal. They met at church, and were later wed on October 26, 1947. Together they built a life, and raised their family in both Louisville and in Dover. Marv was preceded in death by his beloved Ann, his son, Russ, and his two brothers.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. Marv always had music in his heart and a song on his lips. He was a charter member and a long-time director of the Schoenbrunn Valley Barbershop Chorus.

Marv believed that he should always "pay it forward." He directed the choir of St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg and he became a familiar face at Union Hospital helping out each Monday with Mobile Meals often with the delivery of food to those who could not get out. Marv never said "no" to anyone who needed a helping hand.

While his departure saddens his family, they take comfort in knowing he is with his wife and son singing with all of the other angels.

Marvin is survived by his daughter, Diane (husband, Thomas) Klingaman O'Neill of New York; his son, Alan (wife, Carol) Klingaman of Georgia; his daughter, Kris (husband, Antonio) Klingaman Carrelli of Indiana; his five grandchildren, Brian O'Neill, Erik Klingaman, Jennifer Holcomb, Cory Holcomb and Alex Klingaman. He also leaves four great-grandchildren, Marc and Joseph O'Neill, and Max and Miles Klingaman; a brother, Vernon Klingaman of North Canton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rev. Sam Buehrer will officiate a celebration of Marv's life on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 7 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover.
