Marlene P. Muth

September 24, 1945 — December 7, 2020

Marlene “Mawie” or “Maw” (75) passed after a short illness on December 7, nearest her family. She was born in 1945 in Poplarville, Mississippi and was a graduate of Dover High School Class of 1963.

She is survived by her Husband Ken Muth of forty years, her Daughter Cherie Fischer-Hadley, and Step-son Mike Muth. Her beloved Grandchildren, Tristan, Giles, Sydni, Brittany, Hope and Michael and her Great Grandchildren, Aiden, Amelia Nadia, Cicilia and Levi .

Marlene was loved by many. Her smile, her laugh and her sense of humor was infectious. She will always be remembered for her five star cooking and her generosity. Her door was always open for everyone, to stop anytime for anything. Once there though, she would make sure you never left hungry. It was some sort of homemade baked good, canned goods from vegetables she hand-picked in Amish Country or something she picked up at a yard-sale because she had five of them.

While she did not ever have a driver’s license she was always tough to track down. It wasn’t ever an acquaintance but always a loyal friend that would become her personal chauffer. She looked forward to the spring for someone to take her strawberry picking; it had to be before 8am and if any later, she couldn’t stand the heat. Even if she went somewhere on Monday, she would also ask to go Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, oh and especially Friday’s for community garage sales. She may have just forgotten to pick things up, to get out of the house every chance she could, even though she couldn’t be too far from her dogs, Jack and Jill. She was most certainly an early riser and could be on the go all day long but had to be home to make sure that dinner was ready by five.

Marlene had been proceeded in death by her Mother Dorothy and Father Leonard Young – her favorite Uncle Ralph (Ervine), Her brother Richard (Cookie) Young, Sister Charlene Snyder, Niece Penny Snyder and Dana Hafliger. There will be a private memorial service at Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover.
