Marjorie E. Lee, age 89, of Strasburg, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022.

Born June 23, 1932, in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William and Thelma Bonifant Charnock. Marjorie graduated from Tuscarawas-Warwick High School in 1950, and went on to serve honorably with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. She married Robert E. Lee on July 3, 1952; the couple raised four children and shared nearly 50 years of marriage prior to Robert’s passing on April 12, 2002. Marjorie worked for the U.S. Ceramic Tile Company in East Sparta, and then was employed by Hennis Care Centre in Dover, from which she retired.

Marjorie was a member of the former Indian Meadows Church of God in Dover. Some of her favorite pastimes were sewing, quilting, gardening, reading and playing Bunco.

She is survived by her daughters, Christine Sears of Strasburg, Bobbie Jean (Jeff) Everhart of Fresno, and Erika (Josh) Liggett, also of Strasburg; her 12 grandchildren; her 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Debra (Mike) Thomas of New Philadelphia; and her many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and her husband, Robert, Marjorie was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Coss; her sisters, Dorothy McCoy, Norma Cerana and Patricia Lahmers; her brothers, Red, Bobby, Jimmy and Ed Charnock; and her son-in-law, Jeffrey Sears.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 16, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 140 S. Bodmer Ave., Strasburg; Pastor Louise Worsham will officiate. Following the service, there will be a lunch in the Thomas residence, 1309 Stone Creek Rd. S.W., New Philadelphia - all are welcome. Visitation will be Wednesday, 10 - 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Marjorie's cremated remains will be buried later, with military honors, in Dover Burial Park.

The family suggests that contributions in Marjorie’s memory be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
