Marilyn K. Hartline

July 29, 1956 — June 11, 2019

Marilyn K. Hartline, 62 of Strasburg, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital following a sudden decline in health. All of her adult life she had bravely dealt with the bodily confines and limitations that stemmed from an early childhood disease, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease / CMT.

Born July 29, 1956 at Wooster Community Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Bond Hartline. Marilyn was a graduate of Triway High School, Eastern Mennonite University and Ohio State University where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Social Work.

She worked tirelessly for many years in the Columbus area utilizing her MSW knowledge and skills to help many people in need. She also mentored numerous new Social Workers coming into her field of expertise. When her disease progressed to the point that she felt she could no longer be effective in her job, she moved to Strasburg to be close to family. She loved her new rural home and the community where it was located. Marilyn continued to enjoy the passions of her life - travel, antiquing, quilting, sewing, reading, gardening and a love of trying new foods.

Marilyn is survived by her brother Myron (Janice) Hartline of Phoenix, Arizona.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:40 am at the First Mennonite Church in Sugarcreek, where Marilyn was a member.
