Maria C. Altieri

Maria C. Altieri, 82, of 520 E. 4th St., Dover, Ohio died Friday, December 21, 2001 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.

Born November 16, 1919 in Faeto, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Amalia Petitti Gallucci.

Maria was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Altieri who died May 11, 1992.

She is survived by five children Raffaela (Pasquale) Girardi of Toronto, Canada, Raymond (Connie) Altieri, Amalia (Carmine) Spinelli both of Dover, Dina (Leonard) Altieri of Canton, and Anna (Mario) Mastri of Rochester, New York. One sister, Jenny (Vito) Forchione of Bridgeport, Connecticut; fourteen grandchildren; Connie (Tony) Masucci, Mary (Fred) Rea, Linda (Rob) Biz, Nadia Girardi, Lucia (Chuck) Gibbons, Paola Spinelli, Domenico (Mindy) Spinelli, Jenny (Jeff) Schmaltz, Joe Altieri and his fiancé Stephani, Mary (Mike) Carter, Nick, Paolo, Joseph, and Tania Mastri and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Prospero Altieri and three brothers.

A Rite of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Dec. 24, 2001 at 1 pm in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 5-8 pm with Christian Wake services at 7:30 pm.
