Margaret Peggy Burtscher

Margaret “Peggy” Burtscher, 74, of Dover died Tuesday, October 18, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer, in New Dawn Health Care Center where she was surrounded by her family.

Born May 24, 1931 at Dover, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Catherine Meyer Lab.

Peggy retired in 1993 after 17 years of working in food services for Dover Public Schools.

She was a longtime member of the Dover Band Boosters, and for more than 12 years had been a volunteer at Union Hospital. Peggy was very proud of her family and relished her role as a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed her card club and bowling, and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul D. Forster who died in 1965, and James W. Burtscher, who passed away in 2001.

Survivors include: four daughters, Susan (Frank) Glazer of Richmond Hill, GA, Cindy (Doug) Peterman, Dotty (Rick) Jenkins, and Catherine (Chad) Bailey all of Dover; a son Paul (Carol) Forster of Canton; two step-children, John (Diana) Burtscher of Flint, MI, and Janette (Tom) Warner of Dover; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Jinks of Canton, Jeff, Ryan and Tony Glazer of GA, Doug Peterman, Jr., of Dover, Erin Peterman of Dover, Kelly, Lori and Matthew Jenkins of Dover, and Jordan and Bryce Bailey of Dover; nine step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanne (Carl) Schupbach and Linda Haney; and a brother Donald (Jane) Lab of Canton.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Peggy was preceded in death by: two sisters, Ruth Swaney and Nancy Davidson; and a brother Richard G. Lab

Peggy�(TM)s body will be cremated.

Family and friends are invited to call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Friday, October 21, from 5-8 p.m.

To celebrate Peggy�(TM)s life, Fr. William Arnold will officiate a memorial service on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The ashes will be interred in Dover�(TM)s Calvary Cemetery following the service.
