Margaret M. Contini

Margaret M. Contini, 95, of Livonia, Michigan and a former Dover resident died Thursday morning, September 30, 2010 in the Angela Hospice following an extended illness with congestive heart failure.

Margaret was born January 9, 1915 in New Philadelphia, the daughter of the late John G. and Margaret A. (Mummertz) Harig.

She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dover where she belonged to the Secular Franciscans and St. Martin's Study Club. She was a 1932 graduate of Dover St. Joseph High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John Contini with whom she married on September 11, 1937. She was also preceded by a son, Thomas Contini and a brother, Carl J. Harig.

Margaret is survived by two children Carl John Contini of Dover and Mary Helen (husband, Rudi) Wiebe of Livonia, Michigan; a daughter in law, Christine Contini of Marysville, OH; five grandchildren, Thomas R. (Lori) Contini, Constance Contini, Jacqueline Contini, Todd (Renata) Contini, and Elizabeth Wiebe; four great grandchildren, Kyle, Zachary, Nick, and Celeste; two sisters in law, Anna Contini and Catherine Jenny Warner along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins including special nieces, Veronica (Don) Kline, Sr. Margaret Mary Harig SND, and Judith (Jack) Harley.

A Rite of Christian Burial for Margaret will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11am in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 9:30am until 10:45 am.
