Margaret M. Altieri

The “Cookie Lady,” Margaret M. Altieri, 84, of Dover, died in her home early Monday morning, June 12, 2006.

She was born October 31, 1921 in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of the late Burl L. & Audrey M. Adams Putnam.

For more than 17 years, she was a part of the housekeeping staff at Union Hospital, retiring as the department supervisor. Following her retirement she began a labor of love with her daughter Mary as the two operated the Home Cookie Shop for 21 years. Her joy in baking was only matched by the amount of love and happiness her cookies help spread to family and friends over the years.
