Mackenzie Michaela Dipiero

Mackenzie Michaela DiPiero, age 23, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, September 15, 2017, in Mercy Medical Center, Canton, following a motorcycle accident.

Born February 28, 1994, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Kim Bush DiPiero. Mackenzie attended New Philadelphia High School where she was a member of the Marching Quakers. She graduated in 2012, and went on to Kent State University. She was employed in retail sales, most notably at Dover’s Hillcrest Garden Center.

Mackenzie loved nature, gardening and flowers. She inherited her mother’s green thumb and loved making things grow. In the garden of life, Mackenzie had only just begun to bloom. She had also become a passionate and talented baker. Mackenzie grew up with a strong musical influence, and this translated to her love of concerts and musical events. She was a fun-loving free-spirit; she will be sadly missed but remembered with great love.

Survivors include her sisters, Ashleigh DiPiero and Heather Patterson, brother-in-law, Kerry, and her nieces, Brooke and Paige, all of Coarsegold, California; her fiancé, Dakota Demattio of New Philadelphia; her good friend, Khristen Arthurs of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; her aunt, Geri Lee Roy; her many cousins; and her beloved dog, Dexter.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 23, at 1 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Celebrant Kevin O’Brien officiating. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, September 22, 6 – 8 p.m., and on Saturday, an hour prior to the service.
