Macellus (Bud) A. Gray

Marcellus A. (Bud) Gray, 75, of 7225 Angel Valley Rd. S.W., Stone Creek, Ohio died Friday, February 18, 2000 in Aultman Hospital following a two week illness. Bud was a retired journeyman carpenter in the Canton Akron area for many years. He worked out of local 69. He also enjoyed woodworking and som of the family’s prize possessions are the furniture and items Bud had constructed. Born March 10, 1924 in Stillwater, Ohio, he was the son of the late James A. and Bonnie Copeland Gray. Bud was a former member of the Buckeye Beagle Club and Stone Creek American Legion. He was a World War II US Army Veteran having served in the infantry during the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bud’s first love was his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Page along with an infant daughter and brother, George William Gray who had resided in Paris, Tx. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Metzger Gray with whom he would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on June 10. Two daughters Kay (Wayne) Schupp and Rhonda (Vincent) Day both of Stone Creek. Three grandchildren Trishia Day, James Schupp, and Nicholas Day One Brother Francis “Cliff” (Mildred) Gray of New Philadelphia and a sister, Yvonne (Delbert) Sweebe of Carrollton along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 21, 2000 at 2 PM in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Carlan Helgeson officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.
