M. Pauline Haas, 95, of Dover died Friday evening, Jan. 4, 2013 in her home following a brief illness.

Pauline was an employee of the former Siff's Shoe Store and Bond Shoe Store both in Dover.

Born May 29, 1917 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Nellie (Glass) Morris.

She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover and was previously active in its Women's Fellowship. She was also a longtime friend of the First Moravian Church at Dover. In her earlier years, she loved bowling and was active in both Women and Senior Bowling Leagues at Kinser Lanes. She was also an avid quilter having made them for her family and friends. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of various card clubs. She will be remembered for taking great pride in her yard that she kept meticulous over the years. Finally, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and often loved to baby sit her great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, Chester Haas who died Dec. 20, 1999.

Pauline will be sadly missed by her family including her daughter and son in law Shirley and Dave Thompson of Dover; her grandchildren, Scott Thompson of Clearwater, Florida and Patty (Andy) Gintz of Dover, and Christine Thompson of Uhrichsville; five great grandchildren, Josh (Kelly) Gintz of Dover, Jeremy (Amy) Gintz of Leesburg, Georgia, Jordan (Andrea) Gintz of Dover, Nathan (Jenna) Thompson of St. Paul, Minn., and Benjamin Thompson of West Lafayette, Indiana and her special great great granddaughter, Sailor Grey Gintz.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Crites and brother, Charles Morris.

Rev. John Wallace will officiate a funeral celebrating Pauline's life on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 beginning at 11:00am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Chet in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. A reception will follow in the First Moravian Church Fellowship Hall. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7pm.
