Lori Gwinn Mcbeth

February 3, 1970 — March 16, 2022

Lori Gwinn McBeth, age 52, of New Philadelphia, earned her angel wings when she left this world into the arms of God on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 after a courageous 3-year battle with cancer. After given her diagnosis, and as a method of coping, she began writing a blog on Facebook, called “Lori's Journey of Hope” which documented her journey as she bravely fought her cancer and gave hope to other cancer warriors. Her blog had nearly 500 followers. Lori wanted to express her heartfelt appreciation and love to all who faithfully supported her during her journey with countless acts of kindness, with none going unnoticed.

Lori was born February 3, 1970, the daughter of Jerry and Judy Rausch Gwinn of New Philadelphia. She is survived by her loving husband and faithful caregiver, Jeff McBeth. Lori was baptized and raised in Sharon Moravian Church where she and Jeff were married on July 20, 1991. Together they were blessed with two sons, Bailey and Colbey both of the home, and her brother Mark of Dennison. Also surviving are her mother-in-law and father-in-law Karen and Herb Fawcett; sisters-in-law Brandy (Chris) Butcher and Kara (Kerry) Newman and three nephews, Charlie Newman and Landon and Caden Butcher. Preceding her in death were her grandparents Adrian and Mildred Rausch and Hilda and Milton Snyder.

Lori was a devoted wife and mother whose whole world revolved around her family. She and Jeff loved attending their sons' baseball, basketball, track and cross country sporting events, and were always on the sidelines cheering them on, regardless of the distance or weather. Lori loved the many years the family vacationed at Myrtle Beach. She also was a devoted fan of the Indian Valley Braves as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lori graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1988 and then earned an Associate Degree in Business from Kent State Tusc. She was employed over 30 years and has been employed for several years by the New Life Counseling in Dover until illness prevented her from doing so. Lori loved her job, her boss and co-workers and was extremely appreciative of their kindness and the “extra mile” they took to allow her to continue working on days that her health permitted.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21st starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Lloyd Gooden and John Bunn officiating. Interment will be in the Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery. The family will be greeting friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 2 to 5 pm.
