Lois J. Abel, 81, of Dover and Holiday, Florida died Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Union Hospital.

She was a cashier for Scott's Five and Dime and had also worked at TG & Y.

Born July 10, 1930 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Forrest "Buss" and Elsie Lahm Lantzer. Lois was also preceded in death by her husband, H. Leroy Abel on November 4, 2004.

Lois graduated from Dover High School in 1948 and was a member of the Senior Center. One of her passions was line dancing; she enjoyed it so much she taught others this form of dance. But her greatest love was watching her grandchildren play sports, especially baseball during the summer months.

Lois will be sadly missed by her son, Terry Abel and his fianc, Marjorie Slemmer of Dover; sister, Dolores "Punk" Rodd of Florida; grandchildren, Todd (Stacy) Abel and Bryan Abel and his fianc, Stephanie Collum; step grandchildren, Jessi Slemmer and Merry (Ryan) Philibrick; six great grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There will be a graveside service celebrating Lois' life on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Dover Burial Park.
