Linda S. Handley

Linda S. Handley, 57, of Mineral City passed away at her home on Friday, May 13, 2016.

Born on September 22, 1958 in LaPorte, Indiana, she was the daughter of John and the late Helen Ann (Snauwert) Smith. She graduated from LaPorte High School with the class of 1976. She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. On September 16, 1978 she married Steve Handley, who survives.
She worked as a secretary at St. Joseph Catholic School for over 15 years. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover.

Linda enjoyed cooking and tending to her home. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Linda will always be remembered for offering love, too much food and a home to many of her extended "children."

In addition to her father; John, and husband; Steve, she will be sadly missed by her daughter; Jenn (Luke) Siefker of Atlanta, GA; son, Ryan (Rebecca) Handley of Columbus; grandsons, Jackson and Mason Handley of Columbus; two brothers, Chuck (Jennifer) Smith of LaPorte, IN, and John (Lynda) Smith of Crown Point, IN; along with her nieces and nephews; Ashley Janek, Jillian Smith, Daisey Smith, Adam Smith, and Allie Edgecomb.


A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:30 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 5-7pm.
