Linda L. Reiger

Linda L. Reiger, 67, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, September 28, 2009, in Union Hospital, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born, July 22, 1942, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Glenn F. and Pauline Suntheimer Prysi. Linda graduated from Strasburg High School in 1960 and was employed by General Telephone & Electric (now Verizon) for twenty-five years before retiring..

Linda was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of New Philadelphia. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and working in her flower garden, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra (Michael) Hughes of Columbus; a son, Jeffrey Reiger of Dover; granddaughters, Avery Lou Hughes and Tressa Jean Raben; two brothers, Ron (Carole) Prysi of Columbus, and Ted (Mel) Fisher of Dover; special brother-in-law, Paul "Dan" Snyder of Winfield, WV; aunt, Anna McMurray of Dover; many nieces and nephews; dear friend, Sandy Gerber of Dover; the children of her late fianc, Jane (Keith) Beahm of Midvale and Andrew (Heather) Conkey of Tuscarawas; and last, but certainly not least, her much-beloved dog, Bixby.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her twin sister, Cinda K. Snyder; and by her fianc, Donald Conkey.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 1, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Chaplain Chad Durfee of Hospice of Tuscarawas County officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens, Dover. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
