Leona B. Gaskill

Leona B. Kennedy Gaskill, age 79, of Strasburg, died Saturday, Mar. 23, 2013, in Union Hospital, where she was taken after becoming ill at
home.

Born Nov. 10, 1933, in Cedarville, WV, she was a daughter of the late John P. and Charity Radcliff Marks. Leona attended school inCedarville, and in the early 1950's, met and married Eugene R. Kennedy. The couple reared four children and spent nearly forty years together prior to Eugene's passing in 1992. Leona was employed by Cosmo Plastic in Wilmot as a machine operator for thirty years before retiring.

She married Richard F. "Frank" Gaskill in 2001, and the couple shared eleven years together before Frank's passing in 2012.

Leona loved being a homemaker and having her family and friends around her. She also enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers Leona had a very green thumb.

She will be sadly missed by her family, which includes her children, Barbara (Duane) Stutzman and Carol (Mike) King, both of Dundee, Larry (April) Kennedy of Talladega, AL, Lori (Wes) Starn of Strasburg; her eleven grandchildren; her seventeen great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Lamb of Beach City; her brother-in-law, John Avon Lamb, also
of Beach City; and her several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and her first husband, Eugene, and her second husband, Frank, she was preceded in death by her sister, Naomi Lamb, and her two brothers, Charles and Fred Marks.
