Leland L. Penix

Leland L. ''Arizona'' Penix, 81, of Dover, died Monday, April 2, 2001 in the Morning View Care Center in New Philadelphia.

He was a retired employee of US Ceramic where he had worked for nearly 40 years.

Born May 25, 1919 at Winfield, he was son of the late Charles W. & Oneda Baker Penix.

Leland was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dover. He was a Band and Athletic Booster at Dover High School for many years. He was also a past member of the Winfield Grange.

An avid Ohio State football fan, Leland was a season ticket holder for 52 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Neisel Penix, who passed away December 15, 1993.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 5, at 1:00pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Dr. David Oliver officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center following services. Friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-8.
