Larry L. Goldsmith, 58, of Bolivar, Ohio died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 in his home surrounded by his family.

Larry was co-owner of B&L Painting until illness forced his retirement. He was also a retired employee of Armco Steel Company in Dover.

Born September 3, 1946 in Dover, he was the son of Mrs. Larry (Clara) Tomblin Goldsmith Nohl of Bolivar and the late Okey Willard Goldsmith.

Larry was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover. He was a 1964 graduate of Tusky Valley High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Shangri La. He was a member of the Bolivar American Legion where he was also active at the county and district level. He was a member of the Bolivar Lions Club and Bolivar Sportsmen Club. He served many years on the Tuscarawas County Board of Education. He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara Ross Goldsmith with whom he would have celebrated 39 years of marriage on June 18; He is also survived by three children, Tresha Goldsmith of Pearland, Texas, Brian (Michelle) Goldsmith and Cara (Nicholas) Alleshouse both of Bolivar; his special grandson, Brandon Ross Goldsmith; one sister, Linda (Dick) Harvey of Bolivar; his mother and father in law, Russell and Alice Ross of Bolivar; sister in law and brother in law, Carol and David Meiser of Bolivar, a brother in law, Richard Ross of Sugarland, Texas and his devoted canine companion, Jasmine along with many friends.

A service celebrating Larry�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 2pm in the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover with Pastors Steve Daniels, Daniel Schaefer and Dick Harvey officiating. At his request, cremation has taken place.
