Joseph J. Lab

Joseph J. “Joe” Lab, 69, of Dover died suddenly of an apparent heart attack on Monday, March 6, 2006.

He retired from Hoover Industries in Indiana after 35 years of service as a Quality Control Manager.

Born April 27, 1936 in Dover he was a son of the late Jerome and Pauline Krantz Lab.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Dover Eagles Club and the Zoar Gun Club. Joe was an avid fisherman who enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with his friends. He also loved sports especially watching his grandson play football for New Philadelphia High School and his granddaughter run track for Central Catholic High School. Joe was a 1954 graduate of St. Joe�(TM)s High School and was an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Beth (Tom) Swisshelm of Stone Creek and Julie Lab of New Philadelphia; three sisters, Marilyn Lab of Dover, Sue Huff of Loveland, Ohio and Judith (Steve) Terakedis of North Olmstead; two grandchildren, Megan and Nathan Swisshelm; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother in law, Gerald B. Huff.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msr. George Schlegel officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dover. Following the burial a luncheon will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover on Wednesday from 5-8 pm, with Christian Wake starting at 7:45 pm.
