Joseph G. Deibel

Joseph G. Deibel, 72, of Dover, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 16, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton following a brief illness.

Joe owned and operated a farm near Dover and was also a retired employee of Nickles Bakery in Navarre.

Born September 8, 1928 in Strasburg, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lyhl and Beatrice Yackey Deibel.

He attended the First Assembly of God Church in New Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Strasburg High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife Doris Weaver Deibel with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage on April 4.

He is also survived by three daughters Sheryl (Robert) Stuck of Massillon, Carolyn (Dale) Bender of Fremont, Ohio and Linda Deibel of Canton.

Seven grandchildren Melissa, Matthew, and Meredith Stuck and Joseph, Nathan, Kevin, and Kristin Bender.

Two Brothers George (Fred) Deibel of Sebring, Fla. And Ray Deibel of Dalton, OH.
Four Sisters Eloise Thomas of Strasburg; Naomi Prysi of Dundee; Esther Eckelberry of Akron; and Helen Marshall of Richfield, OH

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Steiner, Marie Snellenberger, Sarah Shaffer and Faye Ramey and three brothers, Earl, Herbert, and Lloyd Deibel.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000 at 11:00 AM in the First Assembly of God Church in New Philadelphia with Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 10-11 at the church.
