Jodi A. Mamarella

Jodi Ann Mamarella, 41, of Dover, Ohio died peacefully Sunday morning, April 9, 2006 following a two year courageous battle with cancer.

Jodi was a schoolteacher having taught the past seven years at Dover Middle School and High School and had previously taught at St. Joseph and Sacred Heart grade schools.

Born March 6, 1965 in Neenah, Wisconsin, she is the daughter of Gerald and Judy Lynch Moder of Dover.

She was a 1983 graduate of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School and received her B.S. degree from West Virginia University in 1987 where she majored in English. She received her M.S. degree from Ashland University.

Jodi was an active member of St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church in Dover where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She was an aerobics instructor and coached the Dover Dance Team, was a Class Advisor, and active in the Mentoring Program in the Dover City Schools. She also volunteered in numerous organizations. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife and mother and was very active with her son�(TM)s activities. She was also keenly interested in her students and considered them her extended family. She was an avid sports fan. She had the unique ability to relate to all children regardless of their unique talents.

In addition to her parents, Jodi is survived by her husband, Mickey with whom she would have celebrated 18 years of marriage this May 14; three sons, Marcus, Mason, and Merrick all of the home; one brother, Jeff (Leslie) Moder of Strongsville; a sister, Jill (John) Fearon of Columbus; her brothers and sisters in law, Fred (Laurie) Mamarella and Jeff (Lauri) Mamarella both of Dover; nieces and nephews, Megan, Nicole, Quentin Mamarella, Nathan and Halle Moder, and Macy and Keegan Fearon.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Hazel Lynch and paternal grandparents, Clarence and Margaret Moder. She was also preceded by her father and mother in law, Fred and Darlene Mamarella.

A funeral mass celebrating Jodi�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday at 1:30 pm in the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church with Fr. William Arnold officiating. At Jodi�(TM)s request, cremation will follow services and burial will take place at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery in Dover. A reception will follow the mass in the St. Joseph Parish Hall. Those attending the mass should go directly to the church. Friends may call at the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church on Tuesday (today) from 2:00-4:30pm and 6:30pm to 9pm. A Christian Wake service will follow at 9pm. For those attending the afternoon visitation, it should be noted that visitation will close promptly at 4:30 pm because of other Holy Week activities and will begin again at 6:30 pm.
