Jim F. Wheeler

Jimmy "Jim" F. Wheeler, 68, of Dover passed away at Affinity Medical Center on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 following a sudden illness.

Born on May 28, 1946 in Belmont County he was the son of Lucinda (Heath) Barton. He was also preceded in death by his sister; Darlene Luthy; two brothers, Gary "Gene" Wheeler, and Robert "Bob" Wheeler.

Jim was a graduate of the Garaway High School class of 1964. He served our country in the United States Army while stationed in Korea. He retired from Greer Steel following 30 years of service.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting on his former father in-laws land. He also enjoyed attending car shows and showing off his 1957 Chevy. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dover.

Jim will be missed by the love of his life; Sherry Schriever of Dover; his daughter, Jenny (Josh) Bauer of Bolivar; son, Steve Wheeler of Maui; grandchildren, Brayden, Brooke, Aubrey Bauer all of Bolivar; his siblings, Dwight (Lucy) Wheeler, Debbie (Tom) Virden, Nikki ( Steve) Ballentine, Sue Leggett, Pam Canfield; brother in-law, Rudy (Ruth) Luthy of Stone Creek; former father in-law, Melvin Miller of Sugarcreek; numerous nieces and nephews; and many very special friends whom he considered to be family.

In honoring Jim's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. There will be no services or calling hours.
