Jeremiah John Beck

Jeremiah John “Jeremy” Beck, 35, of Dundee, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in his home surrounded by his loving family, following a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.

Born, January 6, 1972, in Dover, he was a son of Richard L. and Linda F. Dean Beck of Strasburg. Jeremy graduated from Strasburg High School in 1990, and went on to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Kent State University. He was co-creator of Beech Engineering at New Philadelphia, where he was Project Engineer.

Jeremy was a member of St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg, where he served on the Board of Christian Education and was active in Habitat for Humanity. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and boating along with bare-foot water-skiing. Jeremy loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Anita J. Blake Beck, who he married October 1, 2001, in St. John United Church of Christ; a brother, Chris (wife, Heather) Beck of Strasburg; paternal grandmother, Mary H. Beck of Alliance; two nieces and two nephews; and his devoted, loving companion, Zoe, his Black Labrador Retriever

Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John W. Beck, and by his maternal grandparents, Melvin and Norma Dean.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m., in St. John United Church of Christ, Strasburg, with Rev. Gary Richard Friend officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Following the committal, there will be a meal in the church.
